The new order will take Emirates’ total orders during the ongoing Airshow to Dh91 billion.

Emirates Airline on Wednesday announced a deal with Boeing to purchase 30 Boeing Dreamliners worth $8.8 billion (Dh32.3 billion), said Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of Emirates Group and Emirates airline.

Sheikh Ahmed and Stanley Deal, executive vice-president of the Boeing Company announced the deal during a press conference at Dubai Airshow 2019.

It is the second mega order by the Dubai-based world’s largest carrier in terms of international passengers during the ongoing airshow.

On Monday, Emirates ordered 50 Airbus A350 aircraft worth $16 billion (Dh58.7 billion) on the second day of Dubai Airshow 2019 on Monday as the Dubai-based carrier moves away from the reliance of A380.

The new order will take Emirates’ total orders during the ongoing Airshow to $24.8 billion (Dh91 billion).

Sheikh Ahmed earlier said they were in talking with Boeing, which is present at Dubai Airshow, for 777X aircraft as well.

In the first three days of the biennial Dubai Airshow 2019, deals worth more than Dh170 billion have been signed, dominated by local carriers.
